Andy began his career with OverRidge, LLC over 20 years ago as an intern while he was studying at the University of Texas at Arlington. Today, he owns the firm.
Andy’s passion for investing started when he was 18 years old while seeking an investment advisor to help him with a small high school graduation gift he’d received from his grandparents. Andy’s passion for helping people came after his grandfather introduced him to his personal investment advisor, Lee Johnson, in 1995. Lee obviously hired Andy, and let’s just say the rest is history.
Andy was awarded a bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from UTA in 1997. He holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses as well as a general lines license with the Texas Department of Insurance. He lives in Mansfield with his wife, Michelle, and their two sons, Hayden and Jacob.
Besides his work, Andy has a long list of loves … enjoying God, family and friends, being a husband, being a dad, working in the yard, listening to the Rangers games on the radio (the way his grandmother did), Sunday afternoon naps, reading, traveling, working Sudoku Puzzles, doing early morning workouts, turning on the charcoal grill, trying new restaurants, and eating thick cut bacon.

Bruce is our Research Analyst. He first came to us as a client (still is) and soon became one of our favorites. Seems like he always wanted to talk about what we do and how we do it. One day, it just became obvious: Why don’t you come and help us do it? With his natural instincts for the market and his keen interest in “digging” up the details on what makes things happen, he has been a very welcome addition to our staff.
This journey started when he graduated from the University of California (Irvine) cum laude with a degree in Economics. His desire was to work for Bank of America in their foreign banking service. But a war and a military career as a pilot in the Air Force led him on a different path. He managed to pick up a master’s degree from the University of Southern California in Systems Management along the way, but airplanes don’t instinctively have any respect for degrees so, once again, the path followed a different course.
Departing the Air Force, Bruce and a longtime friend started a shipping business. Over 22 years, the company grew to four retail stores and large shipping warehouse specializing in custom crating and packaging. The business consistently expanded over the years and was very successful. Only because of his partner’s passing did he opt to sell the business and retire.
Or not. That’s where OverRidge comes in. Here, you have a pilot turned successful businessman who is a natural fit in our world. Now it is time to use the education and background for our clients. He clearly understands the business world first hand and has the natural curiosity and training necessary to fit the research task.
